My mother could do the "hoo hoo" tongue. Apparently this is an inherited trait, or so I was told. But I could never do it. Try as I might, I could never get my tongue to fold down the middle, making what my mother described as a "hoo hoo"(since when she would do this she would say, "hoo-hoo") Quite by surprise, when I snapped this picture of my sweet Caroline a few days ago, I realized that she, in fact, was capable of doing the "hoo hoo" tongue. Amazed, I printed the picture and brought it in to my classroom to show the children. Even more amazing was the fact that 90% of the children could also do the "hoo hoo" tongue! Now I really feel in the minority. Never before did I realize that this something that so many are capable of doing. I wonder how many of my other dogs can do this trick? I may be spending my vacation trying to capture canine "hoo-hoos".
Our thoughts ebb and flow like the tide. I write to preserve those moments so they are not washed away with the grains of sand on life's beach.

i was always very accomplished at the hoo-hoo... altho if you don't practice it is hard to keep the hoo-hoo.
I couldn't do it when I was a kid, but suddenly around 40 yrs old, I could. My husband can turn his tongue upside down. [see how I don't make crude remarks regarding that? :)]
